I recently had a transmission problem with my Jeep Grand Cherokee. Took it to Russell Westbrook Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Van Guys who asked for $2400 just to inspect my transmission and another $1000 for a separate part, the AC condenser. My husband quickly contacted Eric at Aamco who reassured him he would work with us in good faith (unlike Chrysler Dodge Jeep dealership). I immediately had my AAA tow my car from the dealership to Aamco in Burbank. And sure enough, Eric explained that the AC condenser was the source of both problems in my car and got it done for less than 1/3 the price and included an oil change. It's always nice to find good, honest, and hard-working people who don't try to take advantage of a damsel in distress broken down at a dealership. Thank you, Aamco!
There just aren't enough words to describe how excellent my experience was with this AAMCO. I'm a small woman in my early-20s who doesn't know a ton about cars. I'm a prime target for mechanics to screw me over and take advantage. I never trust them.
I brought my 2010 VW Jetta here after being told by another mechanic that I would need a new transmission (which was practically soul-crushing news). Knowing Jettas can be tricky to properly diagnose and unwilling to fork over $4k without a second opinion, I called Erik. Erik told me over the phone would be strange if I needed a new transmission, seeing as my car wasn't so old. He told me to bring it in, he would diagnose the problem properly, and we'd go from there.
I drop it off and within a couple hours, he calls me with the news that I would not need a new transmission, but that it was just an electrical problem. Great news. It would still be ~$1300 but compared to the cost of a new transmission, it was a huge relief. Less than 24 hours later, Erik called me back and said that they were able to fix the problem in a different way than originally planned, and it would only be $700. AND my car was already ready to be picked up.
Erik could have charged me the original quote, gotten the job done in any way he saw fit, and I wouldn't have ever known or questioned it. He had every opportunity to take advantage and he didn't. He went the extra mile to be honest and do all he could for me. Not only was my cost slashed in half, but my car was repaired quickly, Erik called me every step of the way, and he took all of the stress out of an extraordinarily stressful situation. I won't take my car anywhere else again. THANK YOU
I love going to this place! The service was amazing and everyone there is so incredibly friendly from the person at the front to the receptionist even the mechanics! I love places where everyone is smiling and I know the work is good because I've been going there for years and years. I really wouldn't go any place else for anything for my vehicle this place knocks it out of the park!
Went to AAMCO on a Friday morning without an appointment or calling. I was overdue for an oil change and a tire rotation. The front desk lady was courteous and went to see if they could take my car...which they did as long as I left the car with them for a few hours. I later got a call from Erik (owner and/or manager) and he said that I did not need a tire rotation. The best conditioned tires were already where they needed to be. Talk about honesty. I will for sure going to them again in the future. I would and am recommending them to anyone who needs auto repairs and/or maintenance.
One of the best experiences with auto repair. They got our rig in quick, and had the transmission rebuilt and upgraded in under 36 hours. They called me with daily updates on what was needed and how it was going. Quality service and quality work. I definitely recommend this AAMCO for your auto fix needs!

Eric was the best. I had a trusted mechanic tell me I needed a new transmission (he'd give me a 'deal' around $1500) bc pieces were falling apart, but couldn't show me proof. So I took it into Aamco and Eric ran a full checkup. About an hour later he called me back and said they found nothing wrong with the transmission and that it was running smoothly. And on top of that it was free.
Take your vehicle here first before making any large transmission purchases.
I was going out of town on a long drive and was overdue for an oil change. I needed it done asap (that day) and was going to be in the area. They said they could get me in that day and within the next hour or two, which was great, as I needed to get groceries anyways. Man, once I dropped it off, they got me in and out, and my ice cream was still frozen when I got home :) lol. Erik was great :) Seriously, very helpful, very informative, and super friendly! Really glad I brought my car to AAMCO this week. I was afraid that my clutch had gone out and would have cost a fortune to fix. Chris at AAMCO got me sorted and I ended up paying far less for a failed Hydraulics system than I did replacing the entire clutch and flywheel system and now my car feels like it's back up to full strength. I'd been quoted 1500+ at several places for my overall repair, AAMCO did it for less than a 1/3rd of that.

Where do I begin!! I am not local to the area, and my Truck started to leak Transmission fluid. I had to stay in the area and find a repair shop I could trust.
I read there review's and let's just say what OUTSTANDING Customer SERVICE!! Erick was so helpful, along with the rest of the staff.
My truck needed some pretty intensive work done, and they got the job done in a timely matter, and they also have financing options as well.

I went to Aamco after a referral from a local mechanic who doesn't diagnose transmission issues. When I got there, Erik helped me right away. He is amazing at customer service and very kind. After a quick diagnosis, he called me up to tell me my cars transmission is still under an extended warranty. He saved me $3000-$4000! That is crazy and a really good sign of an honest business. Erik's my favorite person today and I'm definitely going back, but hopefully not too soon. Thanks Erik!
Since I purchased my Audi, I have not taken my car to any other mechanic. From my first visit two years ago, the employees at this specific Aamco location have been nothing but accommodating. They always work quickly but fastidiously, and always take the extra time to answer any questions I may have. Erick in particular has taken excellent care of me each time I have called with a question, or have visited their location for service. He has even taken the time to walk me to my car! Chivalry is not dead! It is no wonder this Aamco has such high reviews; their staff really does take the time to give their customers the best service possible.
This is my lucky day! I came in to this AAMCO because I know they are knowledgeable with Honda oil pans as they have changed my oil previously. They checked ALL the fluids as well for free. Erik was so pleasant to deal with, on the phone and in person. I will definitely return for my next oil change.

I always freak out when my maintenance light goes on, but this time I knew where to go- Aamco! They always treat me respectfully and are understanding with whatever issue I come to them with. I brought my work vehicle to Aamco after bringing it the the Ford dealership and not getting the service I should have. I brought the vehicle to Ford originally because the engine felt like it was jerking around. They fixed the back breaks and said it was all good to go. I had the vehicle back for only a week when it started jerking again. So, I went to Aamco figuring it was the transmission. Neil was the man! He inspected my car immediately and let me know that all plugs and coils were bad and told me that this is an issue with the 2008 Ford Taurus. Interesting that Ford failed to recognize that! Neil also soon after found out that the PCM was bad too.
Neil kept in touch with me about everything. He printed up all that stats and diagnostic info for me and was very helpful and informative about the things I should know about this vehicle and didn't.
My car was out of the shop in just a few days and it's running great! I got excellent service at Aamco! I would highly recommend Neil and the team at Aamco in Burbank for any of your car needs. Very happy and satisfied!!!

I am was referred to Neil and his team by a good friend of mine and wow they delivered even more than I expected! I have a 2006 Infiniti M35 that was having some engine problems.....it did have 204,000 miles on it as well! After they took a look at it turns out I needed a new engine! Neil researched a used engine for me and called me within hours to estimate the cost of parts and labor! To my surprise, the cost was way less than what I was expecting and what others had quoted me previously! Thank goodness for AAMCO here. We pulled off the freeway and tried to get the engine light read by an O'Reilly a few miles away, but we were sent here instead. Once we got in, they had the report read, and they told us it was just a switch that needed replacing. They mentioned the car was still okay to drive without the replacement, and to just check it once again when we were back home in the Bay Area. And off we went to the happiest place on earth! Super quick, honest, and air conditioned!

I brought my car in thinking I was going to have to spend a fortune as my engine malfunction light was on. They quoted my $90 to diagnose, I agreed and left my car with them.
A few minutes later, they called and said that they found the problem; it was a valve that had come loose. So, they didn't charge me at all. Very honest and professional.
I can’t recommend these guys enough. I have a 20-year-old Ford Thunderbird with discontinued parts and had a major transmission issue. I made the mistake of going to the dealer, who sat on my car for days with zero communication or updates before telling me they couldn’t do anything for me. They then subsequently offered to outsource the work and quoted me an insane price…like half the price of the car itself…and said it would take months! I asked around and heard great things about AAMCO Burbank. I called Glenn and he could not have been nicer or more responsive. He gave me confidence right away that they could fix my issue. And that’s exactly what they did—they fixed the problem at a price point that was about 80% cheaper than what the dealer quoted (!) and did it in less than half the time. Glenn was incredibly friendly in person and gave me regular updates over text throughout the process. I never had to call to check in. Really got the sense that not only are these guys incredibly specialized and knowledgeable at what they do, but I felt like they cared about my car and getting me back on the road as efficiently as possible. It’s one thing to be really professional and good at your job, it’s another to just be super nice and personable on top of it. I really appreciated them and the work that they did and would go back to them in a heartbeat. Cannot recommend them enough—they will fix your problem, won’t b.s. you about anything or try to upsell you, and they’ll be friendly and courteous throughout the process.

Ok …my forever car -almost 30 year old ! , Glenn , Neil and friends at AAMCO Burbank … have been sooo good at finding the issues , explaining the details and asking the right questions . Want the "real deal" in Auto Service in general? Look no further ladies and gents, the 5 star reviews here are all true! That should say it all, but just in case you don't dig brevity, see my story below! Back in 12/2024 I met Glenn and arranged to have my transmission evaluated for a rear main seal leak, and he took me through the timeframe, potential problems, and pricing. Very friendly knowledgeable and professional. Once I saved the money for the job, I brought him my Jeep on 1/13/25, after having rented a car while it was with Glenn. It took an extra day, but I got my car back that Wednesday 1/15/25. However, I got it back with an engine code that wasn't there before and a revving issue that wasn't there before. Glenn referred me to a Jeep specialist and explained how wonky Jeeps can be (aka was honest with me) and I paid him $542 and was on my way. The next day my Jeep broke down on me while on the off ramp of Tampa Ave off the 118 West (sorry if you were there), and I called Glenn to explain. Boom, no questions, no rebuttal, I only got profuse apologies and he asked me to bring it right in and that they would take care of everything! Wow, that is honestly in the face of adversity! Not only did they jump right on my Jeep and start working on it, but Glenn called an associated car rental company (Midway North Hollywood, I also recommend!) and I was back on my way to see my patients in the valley in one of their cars within 15 minutes! The next day, 1/17/25, Glenn gave me a call and assured me all things were fixed with my Jeep and I could pick it up anytime, no charge. When I got there, I spoke with him personally and with the shop foreman/owner, and they were very upfront and honest. Any day and age that is rare and something I truly appreciate! So, if you want efficient, excellent, affordable, friendly car service, do yourself a favor and visit AAMCO Transmissions, right around the corner from Porto's on Magnolia. You will not regret it (the AAMCO, not the Porto's)! I will always come to Glenn and his crew in the future, and am glad the guys at MountainView Tire/Auto recommended me to them!
